actually attended an alty v macc game in the late 60,s. it was absolute mayhem. the only thing that didn,t get a good kicking was the ball. think of the dirtiest game you ever saw put ellary in charge of it then multiply by the fingers of a burnley fan and you may get close. The last time Alty played at Macc, their fans were terrorised by the milkies and had to run back into the ground at the final whistle, the stewards closed the gates but the milkies were trying to force them open, I know it sounds unbelievable but this is from the Alty forum at the time. Yeh, but I remember waltzing into the Southport end with another quite well known County fan and his side kick. He had his 11-year old daughter with him and I had Kimberley (5) with me. On their forum, they described being terrorised by an invasion of County fans into their end. TBF, I do remember Kimberley having hold of a Southport scarf, but at the time she was sat down next to a girl her age and they were sharing the scarf. there was a quite a kerfuffle at the time on the original YB with some div saying we were asking for trouble...hmmm...can’t remember his board name but one of those that appeared, glared far too much and was banned in short shrift.

Happy to have them in our league rather than Stevenage. Feel sorry for the fans because they look like they're really in the brown stuff. Elliot Osborne must be chuffed. Elliot Osborne will realise what hes missed out on soon. Not a bad player but we can and will do better

I agree Timber, But it's important to show a bit of respect if you're sat with opposing fans. I had an Everton lad sat next to me in the popside for our cup replay, we had a good chat throughout the game & he was very respectful & complimentary to our team & fans, at the final whistle we shook hands & he said that County didn't deserve to lose like that. Then you get the opposite end of the spectrum like the time Sunderland fans thought they could swan about the Cheadle end like they were at home, & then you get problems!

That Sunderland game I was 17 pushing 18. There were the idiots in the Popside and lower tier. Then there was the lad a year or so older than me say a row or two in front and a few seats to the right. Not wearing colours, not singing, not piss taking. But you could tell he wasn't a County fan as he didn't join in our songs or cheering. And sure enough when they scored he made the lowest key fist clench before suddenly thinking "shit" and putting his hand away. No cheer, no jumping out of his seat etc... And I just thought "fair enough lad. You wanted to watch the game, you've done that, you've not goaded or taken the piss or owt.Could only complain if you'd bee taking a seat from a County fan. But you weren't and that'd be down to the club anyway. But fair play to you.".

i have always been in an odd position when we play hartlepool. old team v my present one. always want us to win but never slag pools off and actually give em a little clap if they score. actually enjoyed the time when marco gabbiadini made a mug of rob jones at EP. never ever rated the latter one bit with us.

Gabbiadini was class that night. Palmer’s final game in charge, I think? Agree with you about Jones too, was garbage for us.
