Hope they fail but the EFL have left something of an open goal with their previous statement about requiring a guarantee/confidence in the National league starting. Whether a delay of about 4 weeks behind the EFL is unreasonable is another thing altogether, can’t see how Mac can come to that conclusion. And given the numerous times they’ve paid late over the years they are cheeky ba8tards in the extreme trying to point fingers at another club.

So they’re trying to take Harrogate’s place from them on a technicality which is, to be frank, nonsense. There’s a start date for the National League season. It’s no more likely to be postponed further than the football league’s start. This is pathetic from Macc.

Don't think Harrogate's place will be in doubt, as the number of clubs in League 2 needed to be topped up anyway.
But maybe Stevenage will have cause to be concerned? Weak government on the part of EFL, allowing clubs like Macc and Bury to effectively push them around, to the detriment of other clubs.... all IMHO, of course.

surely they have used up all their 9 lives by now. with their luck we,d still be in the second tier of the league. surely there must be another technicality anyway to be used against them. its the EFL we are talking about.

Their only argument is that the NL starting 4 weeks later is not reasonable, it's clearly reasonable under the current circumstances.

The technicality that Macc are trying to stay up on would protect Stevenage as well. It’s Harrogate who are most likely to miss out as Barrow will make it up to 24 if Macc and Stevenage stay up.

Macc’s appeal rejected, according to Sam Byrne.

Can’t blame them for trying, can we?

Can’t blame them for trying, can we? No, especially when they got so many more points than Stevenage, but they've continued to miss payments to players and that can't go on forever. Once again it's the fans that suffer for the incompetence of the FL and their owner.

Macc’s appeal rejected, according to Sam Byrne. Should deduct them more points for having the cheek to even appeal it. They’ve got themselves in to the position they’re in and deserve everything they’ve had thus far. Any Macc fan that thinks otherwise is deluded, naive or both

Any Macc fan that thinks otherwise is deluded, naive or both I think the milkies will generally just be happy to survive the season. The chairman might've resigned but he still owns the club

The EFL clearly wanted Macc gone
I think they were actually treated a bit unfairly on the ppg
They calculated the ppg with their deduction, when really it would have been fairer to calculate their actual ppg then deduct the 17 points
That would have kept them up comfortably with 28 points

The EFL clearly wanted Macc gone you could not really blame them if they did. month after month something coming out of moss rose regarding lack of money for one thing or another. they became a constant pain in the neck for the league. all this after the bury fiasco and the bolton problems. if they had remained in the league next season i doubt anything would have changed at macc. apart from more hastle for the league on top of any new problems that may come up.
