If all this is true then I would be concerned that the "Man City lite" would be coming to fruition, like some feared when the takeover first happened. Just buy all the best players, blow other teams out of the water and splash out on long contracts and then success will come. But at what cost? Yes you've painted the Cheadle End blue and slapped an identikit badge on it, but is that going to matter much if you chuck a hall of famer out on his ear at the first opportunity?

for me the original timeing of the post makes me wonder. if it had been posted prior to the game i,d give it more credibility. the problems must have been there if there are problems that is. a heavy defeat where we have had heavy defeats before with 11 men on the field makes the timeing a bit sus for me.

Too early. Need to give the players and Jim time. Jim deserves this season as an absolute minimum, given all he has done and achieved at the Club.
I agree with you RH, but not based on the 'all he has done for the club' argument, that's irrelevant for me. If Stott doesn't have confidence or doesn't believe he is the right man then what he's done previously shouldn't come in to it. Do agree though that it's too early to think of a change, considering the massive change there has been at the club in the past year (and that's before the Covid factor). It's going to take Jim time to adjust to the new structure / different type of player / character he is going to be working with. That's a very 'what have you done for me lately' attitude though.

Yes you've painted the Cheadle End blue and slapped an identikit badge on it, but is that going to matter much if you chuck a hall of famer out on his ear at the first opportunity? Think Mark Stott has more about him than that. But I also think to 80% of the fan base they'll be a bit of anger but if we go up it'll be forgotten. But to 99% of the fan base going up with Jim would mean that little bit more. I think he will take us up this year. Even via the play offs. We have had a proper difficult start. 7 of 11 away games. Four long trips. A two week covid break. A squad that's half new. To expect to be top or unbeaten with all that? Ridiculous. If you remember the play off winning team. It came close first year but clicked properly second year. If the players and Jim can give a bit and be professional then we have every chance. It's definitely going to take a proper sit down and sort out though. They both look entrenched.

I am starting to think of this as a transition season...A sort of laying the foundations for the big push next year.... JG has had problems with big personalities in the past no fake news there ..it will not just be on results this season... if toward the end of this season we are struggling (results) Infighting ect the BOARD of directors will decide if JG can lead us to the promise land

My worry is they know that most will forget once we start winning again, That's not a County / Jim Gannon thing though, it's a Football fan's mentality in general, and there is nothing wrong with that attitude IMO. And we have history of this scenario, in that any noise around the sacking of Danny went away once we started doing well under Dave Jones. True enough, and before Danny we had Asa Hartford, when ASA was sacked 2 high profile County fans (still officially associated with the club today) were not happy and made it known publicly. Of course all was forgotten once we were winning under Danny. It is always the case in football.

It doesn't matter if it's Neil Young signing Maradona, any player coming into a club and trying to get the manager sacked after they've played a dozen games needs telling to FRO This. Players aren’t more important than the manager

Any way, there's only one way to get to the bottom of this, any one got the number for Club Call?

I mean you can sit here and say I am making it up, I'm not really fussed, I don't really get anything out of it and I am sad that his time will come to an end like this but he brings it on himself, everywhere he goes its the same sorry tale. I'm afraid I'd rather keep our best defender, top goalscorer than at present a very average manager at this level. As picked up already, three have handed in transfer requests tonight, the man is a walking destruction ball and has lost the dressing room. It's time for one of the several names in the fray, one who is already at an advanced stage, has experience of getting out of this decision as well as experience managing in the Championship. Best defender, have you not been tuning in recently? He's looked like our weakest defender of the three at times, the number of cheap fouls he concedes is shocking. If there's any truth in all this and he is the problem, send him on his way in January, there were disciplinary issues with him after Torquay and if he's divisive he can go.

I wonder if this board needs a policy for unsubstantiated and potentially harmful rumours like this. Something like if you can’t give us your source’s name (and some way of contacting them to the admins - ie some way of verifying the rumour), then either the admin change the thread name to include [CONTAINS UNSUBSTANTIATED RUMOURS] or just delete the thread altogether. And I’d also add a policy for anyone who has a habit of repeatedly posting such rumours - something like a ‘shitstirrer’ badge on their profile

Any way, there's only one way to get to the bottom of this, any one got the number for Club Call? Phoned them half an hour ago, and I'm still on - the guy's still doing his introductions and telling us what's coming up. Doesn't half talk slowly.

This whole thing smacks of a hatchet job. Whoever is behind it, if they are connected to the club, that connection should be severed. I am not sure why there is a small hardcore of fans who don’t like Gannon, but they are loud and out in force at the first opportunity again. It reminds me of what the club was like a few years ago, when people would leak things because they were all out for themselves instead of for the good of the club. The problem with money is it brings hangers-on. Time to get them out. Including any mercenary players who turned up expecting a payday without having to put a shift in.

I get freedom of speech and all that, but everyone is now talking like this is all fact and this has the power to really do some damage. Really not on as there’s not even one source been detailed, never mind the two that any decent journalist would require.
