Let's not miss out: Keane Reid Croasdale Minihan Who are all definitely Jim signings and Kitching as well who probably was too. The point you're missing is that the players such as Hogan, Rooney and Maynard who certainly don't look like Jim signings on paper have all put in good performances this season. Hogan and Maynard less consistently, but Rooney is clearly our most influential player. Nobody is questioning their ability. Jim in the past has always put a lot of emphasis on signing players based on personality and attitude. That has served us well and has given us success in recent years. We've had good players who've not had a great attitude (Proudlock, McConville, Nolan etc.) and they've fallen by the way side even though they were better than what we had at the time. We've lost those players, but the team has ended up being better off for it. A board that backed out manager would have trusted his judgement and if a player like Rooney could not sort his attitude out, he would have and should have been the one leaving. So players you don't like are forced on Jim.and players you like are Jim signings The truth.. nobody knows who Jim wanted or didn't want

Kitching I put as a maybe because I believe he's wanted to sign him since playing for Hartlepool last season, but don't know for sure. As most people have said, some of these don't look like Jim signings on paper, but of course none of us really know. All managers get signings that don't work out how they expected, but given time Jim has a proven track record of putting together a team that does the job. Some players come and go, but he ends up with a promotion winning side. The main point of all of this is, the board should always have backed a proven manager over players who've been here 5 minutes. The fact that they've got rid of him to gamble with an unproven manager is ridiculous.

I agree on the choice of manager.but Jim does have some big faults in his management style.and it was always going to end this way

Rooney is obviously a talented player. His goal-scoring stats speak for themselves. But I don’t think he works hard enough for the team.
More broadly, somebody formerly of this parish raised a good point elsewhere: it is the older players who are most consistently underperforming this season. It’s the more experienced players making poor decisions, losing their discipline. Under JG those incidents were exceptions which proved the rule (Rooney getting sent off, for example). Whereas the likes of Keane, Kitching, Croasdale - they’ve been out most consistent performers.
I’ve mentioned a few times before that Hinchliffe is making far too many errors these days. He’s got a lot of credit in the bank, and even last night we saw the best and worst of him in the same game. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him leave when this season is finished though.

Rooney Hogan Maynard have one thing in common.and would walk into most national league teams and are not the reason for the team doing badly Just look how many sloppy goals Bens conceded And players JG thought were good enough.but just haven't turned up yet..C.Jennings Williams Bell Thomas They are the reason the teams doing badly.not a player like Rooney who wouldn't surprise me if he won national league player of the season..again Rooney player of the year only because he's famous and posts some good numbers. Anybody who watches the games or values good team play wouldn't touch him to start in midfield for a decent National side, never mind player of the year.
And as for Maynard, walking is an adequete description of him. An absolute clogger. Makes Harry Winter look like Pirlo.
Barrow did and they got promoted.

Every manager in this league would want Rooney on the team. No doubt about it.

I'd be surprised if that red card is overturned. The only angle will be the one from the stream and it looked a blatant penalty. It'll be worth looking at again when the "highlights" are out, but I can't see how he blatantly got the ball. For the 22nd time - just because it’s a penalty doesn’t mean it’s automatically a red card.

He presumably had a better view than the stream camera (and the ref, clearly).

If a poll was ran on the best national league player i’m pretty sure Rooney would win. Certain he’d be top 3. I don’t know why recently we’re starting to act like top players for this level (Rooney, Bennett, Maynard, Hogan etc) aren’t that good.
They are and a team involving them should be right at the top end of the table come the end of the season. JG looked like he was on his way to achieving that, it’s now Rusk’s responsibility to make sure it happens and if he doesn’t it’s a failure.

I’ve always thought that Hogan, Maynard, Rooney were not typical Jim Gannon profile players. It’s their discipline that’s always in question. 2 things I’ve often thought is were these 3 forced on Jim and was he put under pressure to play them. We may never know. Lois Maynard is not fit to lace Sam Walkers boots. Not bad over 10 years

Utter tosh, im sure he wasnt a team player when he contributed 17 goals and won player of the year for the title winners, what a crap team player he won the bloody league and was instrumental in it, people looking for angles to beat senior players up with because the board wanted a change of direction, he's near top of goalscorer charts, our moist creative player and works hard if you actually watch him too

Seen a video from the main stand of Hogan's tackle. It was an absolutely brilliant challenge which makes me feel more hard done by than disappointed

It looked a nailed on penalty from the one angle we had on the stream.
Did Liam Hogan get sent off for the challenge or was something said afterwards? Red looked like he was going to give him a yellow, then changed his mind.
Even if it was a good tackle, it was very high risk. A seemingly good tackle has led to a penalty and a red card! Think Hogan would have been much better off sheparding the striker wider and leaving Hinchcliffe to cover the near post.

I think it’s unfair for any player to be told he would have been better doing something differently when he’s (apparently) made a perfectly well timed tackle and the referee has messed it up. You’ll often hear the pundits on MOTD saying how well times a tackle was and if he’s got it wrong it would have been a penalty, last ditch tackles are part of the game and I wouldn’t want to make any player think he shouldn’t make them if he’s confident he’s going to win the ball. Also seen a tweet from JK that says before last night Hogan had only had 1 Red in 10 years, he’s clearly not the hot head that some have been making him out to be.
