Anyone know what's happening with the Bull's head on the market? Got it in my head that Robbie's were thinking of re-opening it pre-covid but it's just sat dormant for years?
We're a town on the up but there's still a good few eyesores letting us down. The monstrosity that was up's & down's really needs sorting as it severely detracts from all the new development going on around it. Riley's snooker club & what was once a very good Italian restaurant next to the crem have also been empty for years & left to rot. I know nothing of property law but it's a shame the council can't force the landowners of these plots to do something, I realise we're in recession & covid also put a halt to a lot of plans but these buildings have been unused for a considerably long time now.

Would love to see Riley's converted into a lower mid sized music venue. Reckon it would perfect for that and Stockport doesn't have something like that. Thinking Electric Ballroom Camden size, maybe a bit smaller as I'm not entirely sure of the square footage inside.

It would be good to have a band on the wall type venue in Stockport. Older posters will probably remember it being used as a music venue originally.

It’s got so much history when you consider who's played there but it would cost a fortune to restore.

Yeah crazy to think the likes of Pink Floyd & the Kinks played there. You're right it would cost a fortune to restore but what's the alternative? let it rot or demolition? I was glad to see a couple of those buildings opposite the Wellington pub getting pulled down a couple of months ago & I think that's the best option for up's & down's now in it's current state but the snooker club could be a fantastic space if someone had the money to restore it, especially if some of the original features were brought back to life.

Robbies definitely announced they were reopening it but like you say it's all gone quiet after COVID The owners of Bask were looking at Riley's at one point but again not sure what became of that Went to the new Notion last night. Decent refurb, looks nice. Toilets still scare me however!

More of a modern bar feel about it. I'm sure the owner will describe it better! Upstairs was the same I think at the moment

We've gone for a more modern pub feel with inspirations from my favourite New York bars where you can sit along the long bar and watch the telly's showing all live sports(including F1 & golf which aren't sports but thats for another chat 😂,) live music, great food and a bigger range of beers and spirits with currently 49 rums and 34 whiskeys available. Upstairs will stay very similar in decor but will be having a brand new bar and floor put in in the next couple of weeks. Re: toilets william72, we've looked at how to change these but it's a structural issue and they're load bearing the roof, which is hampering us ripping them out and putting brand new in. It'll come soon though!
