I think Keane and Minihan will be here for next season, along with Palmer, even if its just as squad players. For one, they won't be on big wages, and in Minihan and Keane can cover a couple of positions as well.

Its not as good as you think. The NL has improved out of all recognition since we dropped into it, but div.2 has more or less stagnated. Might as well keep them as they would be happy to be EFL squad players having the odd outing in the papa johns. Doubt we could sign much better who would be prepared to do the same. Nowadays its hard to break into a starting 11 as managers always seem to have a preferred line up bringing players back in as soon as possible from injury and suspension no matter how their replacements have done.

Would be interesting if it’s true as that’s an area where we are not currently short of options.

Would be interesting if it’s true as that’s an area where we are not currently short of options. Unlees its seen as an improvement on the good players we already have. Who really thought back in august that rooney would not be at the club now. You cannot stay still in football unless you want to stay where you are or are happy to do it for sentiment.

Can see us moving on the likes of Keane and Reid and possibly Jennings too along with some of the lads out on loan with contracts due to expire - Maynard, Stott, Walker.
Hope we can get something out of Barclay, as I'd like to see him compete with Palmer and Hogan for that RCB spot...or the CB of a three position.
We need to bring in another LCB as back up for Johnson and CF to compete with Quigley as DC clearly doesn't fancy Reid or Jennings all too much in that role
Will be interesting to see what DC does with Ross too - will he be given a chance in between the sticks after his loan spell and Ben effectively being a 6th tier player?

If it’s been decided that Barclay isn’t good enough now - why’s he going to be considered next season when hopefully we’ll be in the league above? We don’t need back up for Johnson, Palmer and Hogan, we need upgrades. And no Ross won’t be given a chance - DC quite rightly doesn’t even trust him as our back-up keeper on the bench.

I'd personally like to see the club get some return on Barclay - he was a big signing and hopefully his loan spell will benefit us. A similar story with Ross too. As for backup/upgrade for Johnson as a left footed CB, the only back ups are Kitching - who doesn't look convincing and Pye - who's still learning his trade.

It’s a nice idea but DC doesn’t trust either of the two or they would be here with us not at other clubs. Barclay can perhaps feel a little hard done to but Ross is an absolute lost cause. Yeah I agree we need a LCB but an upgrade rather than a back up for Johnson. I also really like Pye and he seems to have done well at Spennymoor so hope he will be an extra option.

At times clubs need to cut their losses with players. Its just the harsh reality of the game and you cannot keep players around who have proved really wanting for us no matter how they have done previously or are doing on loan. They are a bad fit for us and thats the inportant thing.

I think Barclay has potential to come back and play a part, done very well at Yeovil by all accounts
He obv cant be as bad as seen thus far and was in DC early side a fair bit and didnt do too bad so was little surprised when he went on loan as that was when Hogan was having his wobbly run of form
Done well as high as L1 so he may come again but im sure if a taker came in for him equally we would let him move on if not give the lad a chance to stake a claim
Much way of Sam Walker who had torrid first season with us being a subbed sub several times but then showed players can come back and provide value
Sure we will have targets covered for all scenarios though
Lets please just get this done next week as loss and i wouldnt be overly confident of 4pts from last two games

He’s slow, struggles defending in wide areas and can’t cope on the ball when he’s under pressure. Doesn’t solve any of our weaknesses at the back.

Doesn’t solve any of our weaknesses at the back. Solves em, he created the problems at the back. Worse than fish was in that game and for me never even had a mediocre game never mind a good one. OK he played in div.1, but only really through injuries to others and not every game was in defence either.

Had a good game at Southend early in season And remember him scoring from edge area early on in DC tenure in a win Look i highly expect we will try to move him on but just saying its not impossible for him to come back into fold and play a part
