A County fan who will remain nameless invited me to join the League 2 Facebook page and in a moment of weakness I accepted. The quality of debate reminds me of the equivalent National League page and why I unsubbed from that after a few days. Facebook football pages; just say no.

Happen. I bet they're looking on though now and there's a kernel in there thinking they backed the wrong local club. Those egos can't be happy with attendances like that. Bury or Oldham would have been an understandable option for them as both clubs had at least one link to them. I'm sure I was told or maybe read it somewhere that Sir Alex was very influential in them getting involved at Moor Lane as they would take fans off and maybe kill off the Moston Red Cocks who he detests. The timing would be right if this is the case.

Anybody watching Port Vale v Swindon? What do you think of the standard?
Vale have been pretty impressive and both sides' defenders have been more comfortable on the ball than ours. Probably the consistency/quality of the delivery from wide areas has been better too than what we got at the end of the season.
Nothing startling (for example our midfield press and interplay looks better from this snapshot) but I think we definitely need to strengthen to be up there, if you can base that much off 30 mins!

Decent game. Watched both Mansfield V Northampton games as well. Reaffirmed to me that we need a couple of pacey defenders and another striker to support Paddy. Think our midfield is more than good enough.

I’m watching and the standard is better than I imagined. Might lower my expectations for next season to play offs rather than top three! Swindon fans making a great racket despite trailing on the night.

You have to compare like with like Sutton finished a couple of points behind these with 1 new player and lost their plastic pitch This is the play off game where teams throw everything at it. People have their pet view of our team and put that as a conclusion whether they are watching Port Vale or Mossley Our clean sheets won us promotion and with the same structure and personell with 3/4 clever signings to freshen up we will be okay with play offs as a minimum.

I've been impressed that likes of Louie Barry and Jonny Williams are on show too, that I've actually heard of (James Wilson too but I can't decide if he's been unlucky or is bad finisher).

I think he's a fairly bad finisher to be honest, the standard is decent although this fame isn't quite as good as the first, I enjoyed the Mansfield v Northampton tie more. No much to fear I don't think if we can add some pace at the back and another striker or two.

More scrapping on the pitch by the look of it at Port Vale. Swindon players trying to get off after the penalties and got swarmed by Vale fans.

Entertaining pens. Vale come back from having missed 2 of their first 3 to win it.
More potential trouble though with fans mobbing the losing players though...

It's probably just me being grumpy...but the thick b*stards could have stood right next to the exit rather than in the middle of the pitch (waiting for the celebrations if it went their way right?). Bound to be swarmed really when they stand where they stand...almost impossible not to be.
