It appears just like before, last orders at the bar for Chally. Incredibly sad it hasn’t worked and I like Dave a lot but the club will be right in realising we need experience at this level. He’s not quite ready but I hope one day he will. Also keeps alive the dream of play offs as it isn’t that far away when you look at the points. Businessmen have plans and like to stick to them. I’d probably be patient and take a 16th finish and a cup run if possible but it ain’t my money. Good luck Dave. Bet you're gutted your thread's been merged into Dave's.

His Mansfield post match was a huge red flag from DC for me.
Saying we should have won the game because we scored.
We scored a worldie but our performance was terrible by all accounts, we created nothing and he was solely focussed on the two goals we conceded. Fast forward a few weeks and two days before the transfer window there was an admittance we’re shite up top but it’s too little too late.
Simple Simon needs to do one but DC has also brought a lot of this on himself.

For me I’ll see where we are early December. No manager is coming in and getting much more out of this horrendously constructed squad. I’d be clean sweeping DOF and our recruitment department now and getting a proper structure of people who know what they’re doing in place for January where we’ll a good handful in and out. Do we have any football league scouts/recruitment guys in our team?

This is positively Johnsonian; not only is the premise of my thread wildly inaccurate it has been absorbed into the mainstream
Which frankly means it should be synchronised into The Politics Thread too Moderators😂
What a time to be alive

How can Dave Challinor need (since April) a competent LCB (who can both defend and pass the ball to a colleague in the same colour shirt more than once in a blue moon) see the Transfer Window close without signing one; only to add an experienced Left Back (after the window has closed FFS)with the potential to fill that gaping hole in our Squad..? And not try him out there in this game..? He lost the plot 5 weeks ago. He is indefensible now. He has to go. He’s deffo not trying to get sacked. I have joked about it before myself but there’s no chance that is actually the case. As a football league manager you’re career is very short and you can often after a good period of management just disappear off the face of the earth after a bad run and before you know it you can’t even get a job. It would simply make no sense to try and get sacked from a club who are on the up and have such fantastic resources as ours. If he got sacked tomorrow he wouldn’t be getting another FL job, reckon he’d be back in the national league and into obscurity. He has though somewhat lost the plot. Bad recruitment in defence, baffling team selections week after week, zero consistently and far too quickly ditching last seasons personnel. However, ditching him right now would not be smart or more importantly moral. He’s deserved the right to keep going for a bit longer. I think mid table is an absolute minimum for us this season and if we’re anywhere near the relegation zone approaching Christmas then it’s time to make a change.

Heard rumours he's bringing Carl Muggleton as his number 1. Jaros and Hinchliffe on borrowed time.

Be a massive shame if what you say proves to be correct after what he managed to do with us since arriving last November. Hopefully some level and calm heads are at the club and give him a few games. October looks a real tough month, lets see what he can return from those few games first IMHO.

& replaced with who? We're not going to entice anyone who's doing well higher up the league as our pulling power is diminished whilst we sit in the lower half of the table, the window is shut so a new guy still has to work with what we've got until January, So we'd be left with employing someone who's out of work (probably down to them being crap) or trying to entice someone from below our level. I'm not happy with things at the moment but don't want Challinor sacked, that reeks of Salford if we go down that route this early. He has to be given until at least just before the window re-opens. If things are still the way they are now then, at least we could maybe entice someone half decent by giving them the prospect of a window to bring new blood in? Outside of the Premier League/Championship higher echelons there isn’t a Football Manager in the land who wouldn’t want a Club with money and an infrastructure to match the ambition of a highly motivated wealthy owner… Finding a replacement for Challinor is a piece of piss Everything’s always piss easy with you though. Hand the keys to the Trust. Appoint some agents to sell the club. Can’t remember the last time you were right about anything. Challinor deserves a lot more time than this.
