I miss his somersault but he’s probably been told not to do it probably for the best incase it goes wrong and I feel like our players have been told not to knee slide although that sounds daft Given that knees are some of the most important joints for a footballer, and that so many players retire, or suffer long lasting issues, through knee injuries, I can see that knee slides could be seen as an unnecessary risk to a career. Certainly some of the slides I’ve seen on harder or rougher pitches have made me wince as their knee-caps take a real battering. I suspect players would rather have the ‘look at me’ moment than consider the associated long term risk but maybe some managers/physios are seeing the potential for unnecessary injuries.

Thank goodness we won or it would have been a thoroughly miserable day.
Ridiculous arrangements for the coaches, which were eventually overcome by our driver persisting in the face of the usual awkwardness by Harrogate's stewards. County fans falling out amongst themselves. Utterly inept stewarding inside the ground with one supervisor bleating "What do you want me to do?" when asked politely to do his job. Quite how they would cope if there was any serious unrest is completely beyond me, they are just imposters.
It's my earnest hope that one way or another, whether it's by us getting promoted or them dropping into the National League, that we never have to go to that tinpot, utterly inadequate, ground again.

Ian D said the same about the coach/stewarding farce. I don't begrudge them a place in the league, they've won it on merit, but they've risen far too quickly. They've not been able to keep up with the demands of being a Football League club. That ground isn't suitable. It wouldn't (and didn't) stand out in the NLN. How did they cope when Bradford played there this season? They're barely getting 1500 home fans for games and floundering at the bottom of the table. Considering where they were 10-15 years ago they've done remarkably well to get to this level but surely the Football League is a step too far and they'll be back being a strong NL team soon enough.

Steward in a blue high-vis, black beard was openly slagging off the County fans and saying "these b**tards are doing my head in". As County fans were ignoring him, he then shoulder barged a lad that was around 12 years old that was just harmlessly walking past, almost knocking him to the ground. He was giving dirty looks to the fans also before it had even started filling up at 2am.
He then began berating another steward for not sorting out the fans standing at the front. But what is one steward against fifty fans going to do? Especially when they've closed a stand thus increasing congestion.
Actions of said steward were deplorable on the day, you win fans over with understanding, not outright aggression from the get-go.

If this relates to the handful of idiots stood up in front of the seating area blocking peoples view on the lower row, not sure what else the Stewards could have done. It was quite clear that group of county fans had no regard for their fellow fans and were never going to move short of getting a copper over. Which to be fair, the police wouldn't do. They had a proper mard attitude though, if they were that rattled they should have ejected people. It's really frustrating, we have a small minority of fans who don't give a f*ck about anyone else but themselves. They only had to move slightly further over to let people see. It's especially poor form when people in the seats are usually there because they can't stand up at a game. It's a shame as it's definitely ruining the experience for my old man and he has been going to near enough every away game for over a decade. I hate to do the 'super fan'/hierarchy stuff, but the people doing it as well are the ones who I've never seen before at away games, or at the long distance/less appetising games. It's their big daytrip out and their selfishness can end up ruining another fan's day.

Couldn’t agree more about fans standing and blocking peoples view, they have a view of thinking as F*ck you Jack I’m alright.

Yeah, our fan base since I would say the first season back in the National league has really started to pick up loads of young lads who have a real don't give a f*ck attitiude. Not saying there weren't idiots before but I swear we used to have much friendlier reprobates. Now theres an element who are just openly hostile to everything. Unfortunately though I think this is how it will be as we get more popular. We just become an attractive proposition for idiots who don't get the whole ' we're all in this together" spirit of what County should be all about.

Without wishing to sound unkind, things would have been better if he wasn't there at all. At least the rest of them just stood around looking hapless.

I did wonder if the stewards might get the Police involved, if they weren't there to ensure fans were safe and prevent trouble, I can't imagine what they were there for. We were all rightly critical of the #ReadyForWar meatheads that County brought in to act as stewards/bouncers at EP but that's what happens when people refuse to do the right thing.

There were fans stood against the barrier the whole length of our section, the terrace was packed and I was stood on the steps myself, those in the seats should have just stood up, it happens at a lot of grounds, I don't think I sat down at all at Charlton, everyone in front was stood up.

Well, there it is, then. If you can’t stand for ninety minutes, don’t go to football matches.

Whoa jkb9b I don’t know how old you are but your comments are ageism, I used to love standing at the RE and Popside when they were terracing but as I got steadily older I found it harder to stand for 90 mins+ so when they developed the Cheadle End I was sat there for 25+ years until standing in the seats got steadily worse. Unless you know the secret of eternal life your body will slowly deteriorate until you can’t stand for long anymore.
