We probably had 4 maybe 5 players playing that form our best XI last night having to play in a pretty unfamiliar shape missing our 3 top scorers, we arent going to have a squad of 23 L2 galacticos, any team is going to struggle for fluency against a pretty much full strength Salford side, just unfortunate those injuries to key players have decimated us and meant we lack that bit of star quality or dimension to change it up much during a game, we've done ok to come out of it 1-0 down in many respects That said you'd always hoped we could have shown more ways to be effective but Croasdale doesnt miss that absolute sitter their dubious goal probably doesnt happen and we could be saying produced a pretty dogged and manly away performance in face of adversity If there was an advert for fine margins from our point of view it was yesterday I wouldnt be too confident of overturning deficit with injury crisis Madden i believe is defo out for season, not sure on Collar but he has a problem with his foot so id say its unlikely we see him next week No fit defenders to sit on bench with Lewis and Johnson both injured so we have to call back Pye depriving him of a wembley appearance to simply fill matchday squad of 18, tough break on the lad but we have to protect our own interests first and foremost not beyond realms we get to Wembley ourselves anyway for him to play a part Injuries are part and parcel of it, but 12 players out injured on a roasting hot evening after a long hard season is going to impact any teams effectiveness Early goal for us next week would be huge and get momentum and crowd going, if we concede first goal i fear its game over I know it's never this simple but next season no matter what league we are in there are certain players than need upgraded but we also need to manage them alot better. I don't know what we do at Carrington in regards to training but I swear we get most of our injurys there. Lewis, Madden got injured last week in the match Johnson im not sure presume in training as he hasnt played much Collar has been injured and looked like he aggravated that in match when on last week MSH injured in a match Wootton injured in a match and carried on, later came to light the extent once had a scan Bardsley unlikely he was brought in to be anything more than backup but a 37yr old that aggravated lomng standing knee injury Grayson we never saw not sure if he got injured in training or a B team game Sarcevic injured in match after coming on as a substitute Rydel picked up knock in a match then late omission from bench last week and not fit enough to start Olaofe been carrying an injury since taken off at half time at Orient but one of few available deemed fit enough to play some part So majority have been done in a match, think weve been desperately unlucky to get them all at once rather than anything too untoward in how we prepare players, our injury record last season was excellent but we also had option of bringing in short term loans to cover eventualities all the way up to end of march The way squads work at this level with 23 man squads (excluding u21s) means at end of long hard season the loading on players with squad limits can be greater when injuries occur increasing the susceptibility of those that forced to have to play more minutes whilst covering injured players Not the only team that had crisis Northampton limped over line somewhat but their crisis happened soon enough they were able bring in a few free agents before that deadline ended to cover, Mansfield also had injuries in double figures and it probably cost them a playoff place, our crisis unfortunately has come all at once at end of season when unable to bring anyone in even in shape of free agents There are a couple of red areas in squad planning we should have addressed IMO like only needing one of Stretton or Olaofe so we could address a player with similar assets as backup to Wootton, and LCB was never properly addressed but they dont grow on trees really so made do with Johnson and latterly Hussey having missed out on targets in summer Think its plain bad luck for most part, we've a plethora of backroom staff to prepare and condition the players but there isnt any club in the land that hasnt had an injury crisis at some point

Not sure if it’s been mentioned but our fans were silent last night. Couldn’t hear them at all. And that was from someone stood 30 yards away. I don’t understand people who queue from 5am who then don’t want to get behind the team.

There’s a minority who bring up recruitment every time but I think that’s a subconscious swipe at Wilson who is the go to for some when things go wrong. Based on Alex Ferguson’s signings success criteria the recruitment has been good but just a couple of areas which you highlight where we probably didn’t get it right. The injuries have made things really difficult but not impossible, and ultimately Salford didn’t fully take advantage of the opportunity. For anyone who thinks we should be ok because of our squad depth, imagine if everyone was fit and DC picked that team, people would think he’d lost his mind.

I was offered a ticket in the home end yesterday but turned it down because my wife wanted to watch the game and won't go to the pub alone, I saw a couple of familiar faces in the Salford sections on TV, did everything pass off peacefully. Interestingly there were a couple of well known County ‘faces’ who had complained loudly about not getting a ticket who I saw in the away end last night. You mean the Salford end? Yes plenty in there who didn't get a ticket from the pathetic allocation, I heard our lot a few times but as others have said perhaps we were insulated from the noise by the block of Salford between us.

Watched the match on the County stream and fortunately avoided Sky's love-in with the Man U tribute act.
I did think our support sounded quieter than usual though. But crowd noise doesn't always come across on a stream/telly.
Just really need to get EP rocking on Sat.

As its more the midfield and attack we need more bodies

All made on a negative stance. From what I've heard. Nobodies quite sure on Collar and its just gonna be how it settles down. Madden looks done tho.. Rydel and Tanto being fit to start would help massively. Smiths service all came down our left with Hussey being done for pace. Sarcevic being fit enough for the bench would help as well.

Hussey has done a cracking stop gap job for us but he's best at LCB, Rydel in please if fit. Sarce would be an asset if fit. We have known this for ages but if this is how we are going to setup we need a backup/competition for Wooton. Also need to look at a proper poacher as Paddy will no doubt end up deeper eventually.

No, I meant in the County end. Who are the well known faces who were moaning? I hear Rod Stewart was particularly upset to not get a ticket.
