Is Pye now back with us permanently? (as in he won't get to play at Wembley with Gateshead?) Feel for him if that's the case. Yes. Gateshead fans are not happy. They've got their day out, what more do they want?

Yes. Gateshead fans are not happy. They've got their day out, what more do they want? I understand their frustration. We would've been a bit miffed if Wolves recalled Gleeson just before our Wembley Play Off final, and then had him keeping the bench warm. Hopefully he'll get a chance to play at Wembley in 2 weeks time, but its highly unlikely.

who though, anyone who can make a real difference (wootton madden collar) are apparently all out for the season I can only see it being Lewis and Johnson both of which we don't actually need. As its more the midfield and attack we need more bodies Might need to throw one of them on up front if we get desperate.

Watched late last night after a night out. Was shocked when I saw the line up and just how short we have suddenly become. Stretton up front on his own sums it up. For me their goal was a clear foul which would be given 99 times out of 100 but it was an overall poor performance. I think that we have limped along since Christmas really, grinding out some results and only occasionally, mostly against the better sides, producing a performance. It seems to me that the season sub divides into three. First bit where we seemed overawed by the step up, then getting to grips with it and playing really well and the ending as if the success of the second third have exhausted us. Everyone is taking about this clear foul but I am not so sure as I think Horsfall was too concerned with Smith than attacking the ball. For me not one county player complained. Compare that to Hartlepool who managed to get that goal chalked off for a foul on the keeper. Either they all thought it was a fair challenge or (and this is more worrying) they couldn’t be bothered to argue with the referee. We don’t have that shithousery / dark arts side to us and that does sometimes cost us.

Put Vit at the back, get an outfielder’s shirt printed up for Ben and get those long balls upfield in to him.

I’m not sure it was a clear foul either but there’s an unwritten rule that in a 50/50 situation like that, to give the benefit of the doubt to the defending team. They both probably fouled each other but if it was in the Premier League, VAR would never have given a penalty or awarded the goal, so the only plausible outcome would’ve been a free kick to us, whether it actually was or not. Doesn’t matter now though, let’s just get on with putting on our best performance of the season and beating them with room to spare because we are better than them.

He just got up and walked back into position. Its not a clear foul for me. We’d be upset if Wootton had a goal chalked off for doing the same at the other end.

I can see why we've done it - not sure it was necessary the right thing to do though. If we hadn’t and there was a defensive injury last night, who was going to come on? I wouldn't have recalled him to sit on the bench last night, surely we could have left it a few days to see how it pans out with Lewis and Johnson? (unless we know already they won't be available for the rest of the Play Offs) Even worse if one of those are back and Pye is sat in the stands on Saturday, when he should have been playing at Wembley that weekend. On the positive side, just head DC interview and looks like they rate him very highly and he'll be part of the squad next season.

Was a very good interview and not using injuries or the “goal” as an excuse for the defeat.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned but our fans were silent last night. Couldn’t hear them at all. And that was from someone stood 30 yards away. Could rarely hear us on Sky and that surprised me. To the point where I did hear a handful of Salford fans singing “shall we sing a song for you” which hurt

To be fair it was grim viewing first half, quite a few of our more vocal types had to keep quiet or at least tried their best. We think the Cheadle End bar queues are bad, they had just two serving in theirs, same old issue of serving grub and beer at the same counter🙄 they even ran out of cider.
