Has anyone still got an unopened Ghost ale? Yes. How old will that be now?

How old will that be now? 15 years or so am guessing? Also probably still have a Jim Gannon 'Ghost' mug, which think was brought out during the Carlisle last game season.

Chuffed to see a thread up and running on beer!! Had one last night that was an India Pale Lager (first I've seen of them), called Running with Sceptres. Was nice, would say it swayed as an IPA though rather than lager. Gonna throw in a shameless plug now, I have a dedicated Instagram page for my beer log - Beers with Lloyd! I'm by no means a connoisseur, mostly chat rubbish but helps keep track of the craft beers I've had. Made it at the start of the pandemic (like a lot of other pages) Hit us up I follow that! Had no idea it was you though. Top work. Likewise, as of a few weeks back

Surprised you've not smashed it to pieces 'Raise the Bar' is good on Market Street in Chapel en le Frith for anyone passing through. They do a nice wide range of craft ales etc not to mention Stockport Gin! I'm a lager man myself so sampled a couple of Eyam Brewery beers from there which are nice so I'm sure those who are a little more adventurous than me would pick some decent ones up. Plenty of German/Belgian rocket fuel beers on sale there too

I like ruby coloured ales, my favourite being Sara Hughes dark ruby mild. Alas its not available in can or bottle. However, recently in Sainsbury's I saw an ale that caught my eye from Badger brewery in Dorset. Beer is Cranbourne Poacher. A deliciously dark ruby ale with slight fruity hints that comes in at a healthy 5.7% abv. I loved it so much I've bought loads direct from the brewery. They also do the more well known Fursty ferret which is an amber ale, Blandford fly which is an amber ale with a touch of ginger and is awesome! I've also tried a stout of theirs which was ok. Going back to prices, I think anyone who is paying over £5 for a can of beer has more money than sense. You can get just as good a product for a lot less. I've tried both ends of the spectrum and find the expensive beers have too much going on. As if they are trying to justify the price tag. Used to drink a load of ales way back, Tangle Foot, Fursty Ferret and all the others that are (or certainly were) commonly available in Sainsburys. Nothing wrong with those but I much prefer some of the more craft stuff available now. £5 is a lot for a can, but I've bought an awful lot over the past 12 months and not found any that get near that one. There's not many decent big juicy NEIPA style, around 5.5%-6%, for much less. And any that are haven't been as good. There's plenty of other great beers available for cheap. I got a case from Bradshaw's Brewery of Farmer's Blonde last week for a relative pittance, and that's a great drink. But it's very different from that Track one I posted a picture of. If you know of a comparable one for a lot less, please put me on to it!

When I was a wee teenager I took a 4-pack of Grolsch to a house party. Half-way through the first can I thought 'Man, Grolsch is not a nice beer'. Only later did I notice that the cans were 2 and a half years out of date. I hate to think what the yeast in that bottle has evolved into after 15 years

For anyone like me living in Macc or around this way, R&G Beer Vault is amazing and would recommend visiting. You can message them and ask them to put together an order for you which given they have 300 odd beers is great.
Red Willow also do same day delivery in the area or next day if you're within Stockport area. They do some great beers, including a new smoked lager which is absolutely spot on.

I'll throw my support in for Bargain Booze at Davenport shops as it's my go to place locally and a trip to the swings on the park usually ends up with me coming home with a couple of cans... They cater for all tastes from your standard Bargain Booze offering upto some really specialist stuff which is priced accordingly. They've had some really good German lagers in stock in recent weeks that come in the traditional 1L bottles and Schofferhofer is now back in stock which is great as the weather improves, it's low volume but really refreshing. I'm a big fan of the Tiny Rebel gear, Clwb Tropicana especially.

Tiny Rebel do some top stuf With the Tropicana though they were forced into a name change from Pepsi (they own Tropicana apparently) and it's now Clwb Tropica! Didn't know this til a few months ago myself Electric Boogaloo is on par if not slightly better IMO!

The club apparently had a meeting with Cloudwater last summer, but nothing came of it. Shame

Another downside to being stuck at home at the moment rather than working away, sampling stuff on my travels and sticking it through expenses.

I'm on Franziskaner at the moment. Well, that's pretty cool - I had one on tap at the weekend. Beer: a global language, right? Also recently: St Joseph's Dark Angel schwarzbier, Rhinegeist Truth IPA (a go-to, and a really good quaffable IPA), Firestone Walker Mind Haze (hazy IPA), Lagunitas Little Sumpin' Sumpin', 3 Floyds Gumballhead and 3 Floyds Zombie Dust (as usual).

Zombie Dust, you lucky man, I love that beer! Was lucky enough to visit the brewery a couple of years ago. It’s available through the Mikkeller webshop now and then
