Again not condoning abuse. I just don't think waving a card is abusive at all.
If I was a manager I would want a group of intelligent players who understand the laws of the game and I would want them to convey that to the officials they come up against. I would encourage those players to appeal on unison for decisions (reasonably of course and nothing too obvious).
Do know after years of reffing its not comfortable being on the pitch with only one player giving the impression they know the laws of the game as much as you do. However it does keep you on your toes and you have less chance of making a mistake or making it up as you go along.
