Which league do they start in? Presume they'll remain in North West Counties Prem, which is the division AFC are in at the moment. It's step 9 of the pyramid.

Have the ones who who haven’t been playing at Radcliffe for a few years had a team this season, or is this, in reality them moving back to Gigg Lane and having he other lot coming to support them?

They've agreed to merge and AFC have been playing at that level for a few years now. Would seem a bit mean to bump them down to step 11 or wherever. Maybe they have to apply to whatever level will have them but I imagine there wouldn't be too many complaints if Bury FC effectively take the place of AFC Bury. I'd imagine some players & staff would transfer over to the new club too. I'm just guessing though.

Yeah they finished 4th in the NW Counties Prem this season. I think effectively they'd just be moving into Gigg and hopefully unifying a lot of the fan base. I don't really know the ins and outs yet.

Confused! Weren't AFC Bury or whatever they were called in tier 9. Is this them or is it them merged with a.n.other Bury team. If so surely they should be classed as a new team. Is there not a deadline for registering a team in time for next season? Glad to see a Bury team back, just curious as to who they actually are

AFC Bury were formed in the wake of them losing their league place but played at nearby Radcliffe Borough. So essentially you had a team with no ground and a ground with no team. They've now voted to merge and the team will now play at Gigg.

I’m pleased for them. Is Steve Dale still involved? No. He's the guy who caused all this. Mentioning Steve Dale to a Bury fan gets a sort of Voldemort reaction.

IIRC the FA makes a merged club take the place of whichever was the lowest placed side, but in this case Bury FC had no league at all so it's all a bit fuzzy. But the important thing is there will just one club for the fanbase, named Bury FC and playing at Gigg Lane. If people get behind them like they have at Macc they should fly back up the leagues.

This is good news, great to see Gigg Lane being used for football again. If they start with the same momentum as Macc they could be renewing their rivalry with Dale in 3 or 4 years.

I think Stewart Day started the decline and Steve Dale took over from him, I remember Stewrt Day on TV saying that it was crazy that they couldn't sign better players when they had £2m capital in Gigg Lane, alarm bells should have been ringing then.
